FESTIVAL GOERS ENCOURAGE TO TAKE THE SHUTTLE SERVICE TO FESTIVAL VENUE

Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) is encouraging the public to take the shuttle when going for the Rainforest World Music (RWMF) Festival this coming Friday. This is because the road from the roundabout leading to Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) will be closed to traffic during the three days of the festival.

The shuttle service operated by Association of Sarawak Inbound Agencies, will be making regular trips from the city as well as from Kuching Santubong Resort to the festival venue. The drop-off point is in front of SCV.

The shuttle service will begin from July 13 starting at 10am to pick up festival goers at various pick-up points in the city.  The pick-up points in the city are at Holiday Inn Kuching, Grand Continental Hotel, Crowne Plaza Riverside Hotel, Hilton Kuching Hotel, Harbour View Hotel and Merdeka Palace Hotel and Suites.

The last shuttle pick-up from the city hotels will be between 8pm and 8.25pm.

STB also encourage the festival goers to park their vehicles at Kuching Santubong Resort and then take the shuttle from there to SCV. Similarly, the shuttle service will also starts at 10am from Kuching Santubong Resort.

The shuttle service is priced at RM10 per adult and RM5 for children between six and 12 years old one way from the city.  For those taking the shuttle from Kuching Santubong Resort, the shuttle fee is RM5 per return trip for those above six years.

The return service after the festival will begin at 12.30am.

The shuttle transfer coupons can be purchased at all the hotels that had been designated as pick-up point.

Traffic policemen will also be deployed to direct the flow of traffic during the festival and festival goers are asked to cooperate with them to ensure there is no traffic congestion in the area.
