Greetings.
5 months and counting! Pleased to let you know that we are
busy working to put things in place and on schedule!. Hopefully
by the end of the month our group line up will be up in this
home page. Going though the more than 400 applications from
world music groups world-wide has been an arduous task for
our selection committee and they have been working extra hard
to get things moving ever since.
We are also pleased to inform everyone that we will have
a bigger space in and around the festival's stage site. The
bigger stage area will "ease pressure" to the present
well-used and worked-out space and platform but rest be assured
that the stage concept will remain the same with lush green
rainforest backdrop! We also look forward to have terrace
seats this time that could easily accommodate more than 600
people.
With bigger space for our audience, we hope to give better
comfort for the evening crowd to move, groove and mingle around.
We can expect better crowd and security management thus giving
assurance that we will not compromise with comfort and security
of our audience which will continue to be our utmost concern.
Preparation for the side events, the Rainforest
World Craft Bazaar and the World Arts Forum have
been progressing well and will certainly be a hit among festival
audience. We will keep everyone in formed of any latest development.
Our publicity machinery will be on gear soon and we will
be putting out festival's press releases in our local and
regional newspapers and will also be made available for our
readers outside Sarawak on our website too.
